Foundation Athletes

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the registration process work?

First you’ll register as a Foundation Athlete and pay an initial donation that counts toward your fundraising commitment. After registering, we’ll send you the Athlete Fundraising Terms & Conditions to review and sign. Once we receive the signed T&Cs, we will send you a code for guaranteed entry within one business day. With this code, you will register and pay the entry fee for your selected race via ChronoTrack.

When will I get my race registration code?

Once you register as a Foundation Athlete AND sign the Athlete Fundraising Terms & Conditions, we will send you a code for guaranteed entry within one business day. Athletes are responsible for race registration fees.

When will I get my Foundation gear?

Life Time Foundation Athletes will be given a promo code in early spring to order Foundation gear free of charge from the Life Time Store.

When will Athletes get to meet Event and Foundation staff?

Prior to each Marquee Race, Foundation Athletes are invited to join a video call with their event's race director (to hear updates on what to expect and ask any questions they may have) and Foundation program officers (to learn the latest about Life Time Foundation's work across the country).

How do I connect with other Foundation Athletes?

In your registration confirmation email, you'll receive links to join the Foundation Strava group and the Foundation Athlete Facebook group — and we'd love for you to join us! It is a great way to connect with some of the other 175+ athletes that will be competing across the United States on behalf of the Foundation — all of whom are passionate about kids' health, activity, and nutrition.

Are there any pre-race community events?

Planned for optimal race performance, our community dinners / events prior to each Marquee Race are excellent opportunities to meet the rest of the Life Time Foundation Team in person. Each pre-race event is planned in coordination with event staff to fit the vibe of the race (e.g., boots and cowboy hats in Leadville).

What resources do you have to support fundraising?

Each Foundation Athlete commits to raising funds in support of the Foundation's mission. The Foundation helps fundraisers set up their crowdfunding pages and provides a fundraising guide, mission-explainer videos, and sample copy for social and email asks.

What if I’m not ready for 100 miles yet?

If you want to be sure to get into Leadville, or Big Sugar, or Lutsen in two years' time, compete as a Foundation Athlete in a shorter distance race this year - as all previous year Foundation Athletes are given first dibs at representing the Foundation again the following year, it is a great way to secure your spot on the start line you are going for.

What if I register but am unable to race?

We understand that life happens. Please see our Fundraising Policy regarding deferrals and cancellations.

What if I already have a race entry but I want to fundraise for the Life Time Foundation?
