Restoring Nature in the Arizona Desert

Life Time Team Members in Arizona joined forces with the Arizona Sustainability Alliance (AZSA) for an early morning volunteer event at the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area. Together, the team helped clean up the area, remove invasive plant species, and create seedballs to help restore native vegetation to the local ecosystem.

We had the chance to create seedballs that will be planted to help rejuvenate local plant life. On top of that, we spent a few hours removing invasive plants that are taking over parts of the Arizona desert landscape—super impactful work!
— Steve Getz, Lead General at Life Time Tempe

This effort was more than just getting their hands dirty—it was about creating a lasting impact for the community and local environment! During the event, the Life Time Foundation presented a $2,500 check to the AZSA to support their continued efforts. The grant specifically will help fund their Earth Day Tree Planting at Donnie Hale Park in Avondale on April 26th.

We had an absolute blast! Thank you so much to your team for coming out; we are most grateful for the help. We would absolutely love to have your team join us again sometime in the future.
— Julisa Quintero, Operations & Volunteer Outreach Coordinator at AZSA

Together, we’re creating a healthier planet, one local park at a time!
