Maple Apple Meatballs

These Maple Apple Meatballs are loaded with seasonal flavors and are great for meal prep and batch cooking. This recipe yields 24 meatballs, and the leftovers are freezer-friendly (if you have any!).

Ingredients

3 lb lean ground turkey

3/4 cup yellow onion, finely diced

3 green apples, finely diced

1/2 cup parsley, chopped

2 large eggs

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

1/2 cup almond flour

2 tsp salt

1 oz sage, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F

  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients (except turkey) and stir

  3. Add turkey and mix to form a homogeneous mixture

  4. Form mixture into evenly sized meatballs of about 1/4 cup each

  5. Place meatballs on a greased muffin tin and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until they reach an internal temp of 165F

Notes

Optional: Increase oven heat to broil for the final 3 to 4 minutes of baking to form a caramelized finish on the meatballs.
